The Varick Campus of Hillside Children’s Center is, by definition, a very sad place. It’s a residential community and school for kids who—for a variety of reasons—aren’t safe in their homes, communities, or schools. They struggle with severe emotional and mental challenges and in most cases, they have nowhere left to go.

The campus itself is a former military barracks. It’s dark, run-down, and depressing—no place for kids. The organization desperately needed funds to renovate and modernize it.

We created a case statement that explains the urgent need for a new facility through the voices and images of the wounded kids that live there. Our goal was to make an inspiring story out of a tragic situation that most people would rather not think about at all.

You did it. I looked at the materials and I am shaking in my chair at the emotion, at how moving the text is. You have elevated the storytelling of Hillside and yes, it will help drive revenue. You are the absolute best. Truly remarkable. You are not just driving Hillside to be better but me. What a privilege. Love this.
